So I want to put a few thoughts on paper and share my future plans for The Daily Scythe. Currently, the plan is to get a general strategy post for every faction out to establish a kind of groundwork for the blog. I will circle back to step by step guides for player mats in the future but I feel like there are things that would be more valuable for the community, and honestly more fun for me. I’ve struggled to find time to get content out this past couple of months due to holidays and life events, but my schedule is clearing up a good deal in January 2020. So I hope to be able to post pretty regularly starting then.
Tournaments
I have pretty big dreams for The Daily Scythe! Beyond strategy guides, I’d love the site to operate as a place for the community to a larger degree. I want to host Digital tournaments and have a community discord to go along with it. It would also be great to organize real-world tournaments, but that is a big dream for down the road.
Fanboy Factions
I also have some fan-made factions that I would love to take the time to playtest! After I get them tested I’d love to post them for all of you guys to check out and have fun with.
Modular Board
Another thing I want to take a look at is playing all the factions using the modular board. The modular board is totally game-changing for Scythe and deserves an in-depth look! It would be really fun to take a look at how well each faction handles the modular board. Does it shake up the power hierarchy? I don’t know, ain’t no one got time for that! Still, I would like to do it.
Rise of Fenris(Spoilers)
Getting some strategies out for Vesna and Fenris is pretty high on my list as well, because there isn’t a whole lot of info out there for them. I have only ever played Fenris once, and it was a short game during the campaign.
The Rise of Fenris also provides a lot of really fun modular aspects! Definitely worth taking a look at how those affect each faction as well.
Time is Money
All that to say time is money and money is time. I really hope to do all of these things eventually. If you’d like to see them on a more expedited course, consider donating some “time” at my Patreon site. There is no added benefit for being a patron at this time, just my appreciation and the promise of future content. However, in the future, digital tournaments and discord access would likely be a subscriber benefit.
Either way, I’ll keep on keeping on because I love playing Scythe!
